UAPD announced a visitation for Beal will be held at noon Wednesday, July 15, at Skelton Funeral Home in Pickens County.

The funeral home is located at 2105 Second St. SW in Reform.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. following the visitation.

After the service, a UAPD-escorted procession will accompany Beal to Boone Cemetery in northern Tuscaloosa County.

The cemetery is located on U.S. Highway 43 just past Ervin's Outfitters near the intersection with Etteca Road.

As Patch previously reported, Beal died Wednesday evening following a highly publicized battle with terminal cancer that drew widespread support from fellow law enforcement officers, the University of Alabama and the community.

Colleagues described Beal as a dedicated investigator and friend whose impact on the department and the university community would not be forgotten.

"He was more than just my husband — he was our rock, our protector, and the heart of our family," Beal's wife Christina said following his death. "The pain of this loss is unimaginable, but we find comfort knowing he is no longer suffering."

A GoFundMe established to assist the Beal family remains active.

As of the publication of this story, it had raised $55,364 toward its goal of $60,000.
