The sale will be held Aug. 27-29 at First United Methodist Church and will feature gently used infant and children's fall and winter clothing, shoes, nursery items, toys, books, furniture and accessories.

Organizers said the event has continued to grow since it began in 2002, with recent seasonal sales featuring more than 24,000 items from more than 200 local consignors.

"Little Lambs is the perfect opportunity for parents, grandparents and friends to find deals on gently used clothing, toys, Halloween costumes, strollers, furniture and more," Little Lambs committee member Janine McGee said. "While shoppers find amazing buys, a portion of the proceeds also help the FUMCT ministries with resources that benefit children of the church and our community. I personally love that I can buy most of what my child needs for half the year, and buy a size up in case he hits an unexpected growth spurt."

The event opens with a public Early Bird Sale from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27.

Admission is $5 and strollers will not be permitted during the preview event.

The sale continues with free admission from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28.

On Saturday, Aug. 29, shoppers can take advantage of half-price discounts on most remaining items from 9 a.m. until noon.

Church members and community volunteers organize and staff the sale each season.

Volunteer opportunities are still available, and volunteers receive the opportunity to shop before the public preview sale.

Proceeds from the Little Lambs Consignment Sale support children's ministries and mission projects at First United Methodist Church Tuscaloosa.

More information, including volunteer registration, is available on the church's website and the Little Lambs Consignment Sale Facebook page.
