TUSCALOOSA, AL — Backpacks are packed, alarms are ringing and a new school year is officially underway in Tuscaloosa.

Tuscaloosa City Schools students returned to class Monday, Aug. 10, according to the district's 2026-27 academic calendar. Tuscaloosa County School System students followed Wednesday, Aug. 12, according to the district's calendar.
