Northside High Principal Jeremy Madden Leaving To Become Lawrence County Superintendent

SAMANTHA, AL — Northside High School principal Jeremy Madden has been selected as the next superintendent of Lawrence County Schools.

The school system announced Madden's hiring Thursday, saying it was excited to welcome him as its new superintendent of education.

"Congratulations, Dr. Madden! We look forward to the leadership, vision, and dedication you will bring to our students, staff, schools, and community," the district said in its announcement.

The Lawrence County Board of Education selected Madden during a special-called meeting Thursday.

Madden was first hired as principal of Northside High School in August 2024.

Before coming to Northside, Madden served as principal of his alma mater, Russellville High School, beginning in 2022.

Prior to his time in Russellville, Madden spent a decade as principal of Fayette County High School.

His education career also includes teaching positions at Belgreen High School, Haleyville Elementary School and Fayette County Elementary School, where he later became an assistant principal.

The Tuscaloosa County Board of Education has not yet announced a permanent replacement for Madden.
