Jamison will temporarily fill the position left vacant after Patch reported that outgoing president and CEO Kyle South announced last week he was stepping down for a new job with the University of Alabama System.
The appointment was approved Wednesday by the Chamber's Board of Directors.
Jamison, an accountant with Tuscaloosa-based JamisonMoneyFarmer PC, is a longtime business and civic leader who previously served as chairman of the Chamber in 2025.
The chamber said Jamison currently serves as the organization's immediate past chairman and is a member of its executive committee.
Throughout his career, Jamison has served on numerous state and local boards, including the DCH Healthcare Authority, DCH Foundation, Tuscaloosa County Economic Development Authority, Business Council of Alabama and Alabama State Port Authority.
In his interim role, Jamison will oversee the Chamber's day-to-day operations while assisting with the search for a permanent successor to South.
The Chamber has not announced a timeline for completing the search or naming its next president and CEO.
