The Carbon Hill Police Department announced the development in a Facebook post Friday, thanking the community for its assistance in the investigation and apprehension of the suspect.
"More details will be released at a later time," the department said.
As Patch previously reported, authorities launched a search for Dustin Patrick Tucker, 38, who was believed to be linked to a fatal home invasion that occurred Wednesday, Oct. 14, at a residence on Seventh Avenue Northwest.
Police said 32-year-old Kenya Pugh was fatally shot by the homeowner after two people allegedly forced their way inside, with investigators believing Tucker to be the other individual.
Investigators have not yet announced formal charges against Tucker.
