According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2, Titans defensive tackle Jordan Elliott became involved in a heated confrontation with Latham during practice Thursday, Oct. 15, prompting team officials to order Elliott off the field.

Wilson, citing multiple league sources, reported Wednesday that Elliott removed his shoulder pads and left the team's practice facility before going to his vehicle in the players' parking area to retrieve a gun, apparently intending to confront Latham.

The incident was reportedly captured by security cameras, while veteran Titans defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers intervened and allegedly de-escalated the situation.

The Titans announced Tuesday that Elliott had been released following an internal review of the incident, although the organization did not publicly disclose the circumstances surrounding his departure.

"On Thursday, October 15th, there was an incident at our team facility involving Jordan Elliott," the Titans said in a statement. "Following our review of the incident, we have made the decision to release Elliott from our roster. We will have no further comment on the matter."

Wilson's reporting indicated that the confrontation began after Elliott and Latham became tangled during a play at practice, although the specific details of their disagreement remain unclear and unconfirmed.

Latham, 23, is among the most prominent former Alabama players currently in the NFL after the Titans selected him with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-6, 342-pound offensive tackle played three seasons for the Crimson Tide from 2021-23, appearing in 41 games and making 27 consecutive starts at right tackle.

During his final season in Tuscaloosa, Latham earned first-team All-SEC and second-team All-America honors.

Despite the reported confrontation at practice, Latham remained in the lineup Sunday as Tennessee defeated the Indianapolis Colts 26-20 for its first victory of the season.
