The White House announced Wednesday that Trump and LSU have established the fund through her "Fostering the Future" initiative, which aims to expand educational and career opportunities for young people transitioning out of foster care.
The Office of the First Lady said the permanent endowment will provide scholarship funding for eligible LSU students, although officials did not specify how many students would benefit or how much individual scholarships would provide.
She is scheduled to make an announcement at LSU before attending Saturday's Southeastern Conference matchup between the Crimson Tide and Tigers at Tiger Stadium.
The initiative will also be promoted on campus and during the game, which kicks off at 2:30 p.m. Central.
"Fostering the Future" was launched in 2021 as part of the First Lady's broader "Be Best" initiative, focusing on educational opportunities and resources for children who have experienced foster care.
