Arrest Made In Tuscaloosa Double Shooting That Injured 14 Year Old

An arrest has been made in a shooting on 21st Street earlier this month that injured two people, including a 14-year-old boy.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit have announced an arrest in a shooting on 21st Street earlier this month that injured two people, including a 14-year-old boy.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multiagency unit, told local media Monday morning that Cameron Chandler, 18, was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 26 and charged with attempted murder, two counts of first-degree assault and second-degree receiving stolen property.

Chandler is currently being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail with no bond set.

Kennedy said other arrests or additional charges are possible.

As Patch previously reported, Tuscaloosa Police and VCU investigators responded around 6:30 p.m. on Oct 21 to a shooting in the 3100 block of 21st Street.

Once on scene, police found that a 14-year-old boy and a 45-year-old man were both shot.

Both victims suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening, although the man's injuries were considered serious at the time of the shooting.
