Arrest Made, Victim Identified In Fatal Shooting In Fosters
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Tuesday night announced an arrest in a fatal shooting that occurred earlier in the day.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Tuesday night announced an arrest in a fatal shooting that occurred earlier in the day and also identified the man slain in the incident.

As Patch previously reported, Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday morning to Timbertop Lane in Fosters on the reports of a shooting. Once on scene, one person was found to have been shot.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multiagency unit, said a deputy/paramedic was first on the scene and attempted to render aid to the victim — Jaylin Reed, 22 — who was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Kennedy then said after an investigation throughout the day on Tuesday, 20-year-old Tywann Long was arrested and charged with murder in connection to the shooting.

"The motive is still under investigation, but sale and/or possession of illegal narcotics appear to be a factor," Kennedy said. The investigation is still ongoing, and more arrests are possible."
