Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit says Antwaun Dewayne Pledger-Payton, 40, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with murder.

He was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail and denied bond due to Aniah's Law, which relates to bonds for violent offenders.
Kennedy said investigators are also actively seeking several other persons of interest and declined to release any other information regarding the investigation.

As Patch previously reported, the shooting occurred on Sept. 24 around 7:15 p.m., with the Northport Police Department initially responding to the 3900 block of Northwood Lake Drive West.
Once on scene, one male subject was found to have been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting victim was identified as 24-year-old Demetrius Damon Windham, Jr.
