As Patch previously reported, after deputies learned he had fled, an IPAWS emergency alert notification was sent out to residents of the area.
TCSO then deployed its K-9 unit and Crime Suppression Unit to establish a perimeter, with McDaniel saying members of the community began making calls about sighting Herron.
Herron was taken into custody shortly after escaping.
He is charged with third-degree escape, fourth-degree theft of property and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Herron's bond had not been set as of the publication of this story.
