Indiana Man Identified As Pedestrian Killed In Northport
Police have identified an Indianapolis man as the pedestrian who was struck Sunday on McFarland Boulevard and later died from his injuries

NORTHPORT, AL — The Northport Police Department on Tuesday identified an Indiana man who died from his injuries after being struck by a vehicle on McFarland Boulevard Sunday evening.

NPD Assistant Chief Keith Carpenter said in a press release that 24-year-old Van Ling Thang, of Indianapolis, was attempting to cross McFarland Boulevard at its 1900 block just before 6:14 p.m. Sunday when he was hit by a 2008 Ford Explorer driven by a Northport resident.

Thang was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa and died shortly thereafter from his injuries.
The fatal incident remains under investigation by NPD's Accident Reconstruction Team.
