Patch also reported on a second, seemingly unrelated shooting over the weekend that occurred Sunday afternoon around 2 p.m. at Cottondale Efficiency Apartments on University Boulevard.

In that shooting, Kennedy said a 26-year-old man was shot one and was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

Kennedy said after interviewing witnesses and processing the scene , Wiley Lee Sanders, 41, was developed as a suspect but investigators were unable to locate him at the time.

Sanders was eventually located and charged with attempted murder on Sunday. He remains in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, with his bond to be set at a later date.

Kennedy said the shooting appears to have stemmed from an ongoing argument.
