A police officer in eastern Tuscaloosa County is recovering at home after being attacked by a dog while on responding to a call.

LAKE VIEW, AL — A Lake View Police officer is recovering at home after being attacked by a dog on Sunday while responding to a call in eastern Tuscaloosa County.

Few details about the event have been made public, but the City of Lake View says the home owner's dog attacked the officer once they arrived on scene.

"Please remember if you call for any type of assistance, and have animals, please put them in a secure area so that this doesn’t happen," the city said on its official Facebook page on Thursday.
