ETHELSVILLE, AL — A Mississippi man was killed Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Pickens County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says the crash occurred on Tabernacle Road near Atkins Road at around 3 p.m. Saturday. The scene was roughly five miles north of Ethelsville.

ALEA says Caleb R. Owens, 32, of Columbus, Mississippi, was killed when the 2002 Jeep Cherokee he was driving left the roadway and struck a ditch.
Investigators said Owens was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details have been released regarding the fatal crash.
