Multiple Northport Shootings Leave 1 Dead, 'Several Victims'

NORTHPORT, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit says multiple shootings occurred in Northport Tuesday afternoon, but details are still unclear following news that at least one person has died and multiple victims resulted from the violence.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multi-agency unit, said a shooting at Fieldcrest Drive resulted in "several victims," whose conditions were not released. Once one scene, Patch observed one person in a state of grief that confirmed the human toll exacted during the shootings.

A short drive away on McFarland Boulevard, a large police presence could also be seen at Wendy's, where investigators had evidence markers scattered along the drive-thru side of the restaurant's parking lot.
Captain Marty Sellers confirmed that one person was killed in Northport on Tuesday, but declined to provide specifics on the location or potential motives, as the early stages of the investigation move forward.
