Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, told local media that Courtney Renee May, 35, was arrested Monday morning after police responded to the initial call at West Circle Apartments.

Kennedy said Northport Police officer first responded Friday at about 7 p.m. and found that a 69-year-old man had been stabbed.
While Kennedy said the man suffered serious injuries, he did not provide any further updates as to the victim's condition.

May reportedly fled the scene following the incident, Kennedy said, but was located and arrested Monday morning.
May is charged with first-degree assault and is awaiting a court to set her bond.
