Northport Police Identify Pedestrian Struck And Killed Tuesday Evening
The Northport Police Department has identified a pedestrian who was struck and killed Tuesday evening on Lurleen B. Wallace Boulevard.

NORTHPORT, AL — The Northport Police Department has identified a Northport woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle as she attempted to cross Lurleen B. Wallace Boulevard on foot Tuesday evening.

Northport Assistant Police Chief Keith Carpenter told local media on Wednesday that Linda Sue Foley, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit in the southbound lane by a 2002 Dodge Dakota driven by a Calera resident.

As Patch previously reported, the initial call of a traffic accident came in at 5:33 p.m. and Foley was pronounced dead at the scene after NPD, Northport Fire Rescue and NorthStar Ambulance Service responded.
Carpenter went on to say the accident is being investigated by the department traffic reconstruction unit, but no criminal charges are pending at this time.
