One Injured, One In Custody After Shooting In West Tuscaloosa Monday Night
One person was injured and a male suspect is in custody after a Monday night shooting in Tuscaloosa's West End.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — One person was injured and a male suspect was taken into custody after a Monday night shooting in Tuscaloosa's West End.

The investigation is in its earliest phases, but Tuscaloosa Police Department spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor confirmed to Patch that one male victim was hurt in the shooting in the 300 block of 24th Street and transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The extent of the victim's injuries is unclear at this time.
Taylor then said several 911 calls relating to the shooting were received by TPD beginning at 8:04 p.m.

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is on scene and will handle the investigation.
The circumstances of the shooting have yet to be released, but the incident is the second shooting in Tuscaloosa County on Monday following a shooting during an alleged attempted robbery in Northport earlier in the day.
It is unclear if the two shootings were in any way related.
