No Arrests In Fatal Shooting Sunday Night In Northport's Northwood Lake Subdivision
Investigators are currently on the scene of a Sunday night shooting in Northport that left one person dead.

NORTHPORT, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit and the Northport Police Department are currently on the scene of a Sunday night shooting in Northport that left one person dead.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, told local media around 3 a.m. that the initial call of the shooting came in at 7:15 p.m., with the Northport Police Department responding to the 3900 block of Northwood Lake Drive West.

Once on scene, Kennedy said one male subject was found to have been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting victim was identified as 24-year-old Demetrius Damon Windham, Jr.

Kennedy went on to say that the investigation is still active and anyone who witnessed any suspicious persons or vehicles in the area of Northwood Lake Drive West between the Northwood Lake spillway area and Highway 69 around the time of 7:15 p.m. are asked to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at (205) 464-8690.
