PARA Sets Pickleball Schedule For Leroy McAbee Activity Center

Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority has announced the pickleball schedule for the Leroy McAbee Activity Center for the summer.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority has announced the pickleball schedule for the Leroy McAbee Activity Center for the summer.

The primary days the courts will be open will be Thursday through Saturday, while it will be closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Saturdays, however, will be open to all, with no membership or fees required.

Pickleball players use rackets resembling a ping-pong paddle to hit a plastic ball similar to a wiffle ball over a net, much in the same way as in tennis.

The burgeoning sport has become a popular fixture in community centers and municipal parks all over the country, particularly among senior citizens, but also with players of all ages.

Times for pickleball at the Leroy McAbee Activity Center.

  • Thursday, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Friday, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
