The renaming was made possible by a Senate resolution offered up by state Sen. Gerald Allen, a Republican from Tuscaloosa.

As Patch reported on July 6, 2021, Audra Mary Rogers, 36, was killed when a 2007 Volvo XC90 driven by a Northport woman collided head-on with the 2012 Honda Pilot driven by Rogers.

Rogers, an Alabama powerlifting record holder and 2021 World’s Ms. Alabama Tourism, was the mother of four boys: Roman, Reed, Rawley and Rhett. She also worked as a respiratory therapist.

"She would pick up stray animals and always had time to volunteer, despite having an almost impossible schedule," her mother, Katie Bramlett, told Patch in 2021. "Her warm and fun nature naturally drew people to her."

The renaming ceremony will be held at One Hope Church at 1501 McFarland Boulevard at 11 a.m.
