UPDATE: Suspect In Custody After Prompting Brief Standoff On 10th Street

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Police are on the scene of a residence in the 2500 block of 10th Street East where an individual is now in custody after reportedly barricading themselves inside and refusing to surrender.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department says its officers and members of the Special Response Team are at the location as of the publication of this story and the suspect was taken into custody sometime around 9:30 a.m.

TPD spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor told local media Friday morning that members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force were attempting to arrest the individual around 8 a.m., but he refused to surrender and barricaded himself inside.
