TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office is warning the public to be cautious of scam callers.

TCSO said Wednesday that it has received reports regarding calls where the caller will tell the person that they have an active warrant. The caller then informs the individual that the only way to clear the warrant is to pay the fine.

Investigators suggest hanging up and not answering calls from unknown numbers.
