Woman Killed In Friday Afternoon Shooting At Hay Court Apartments

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A woman is dead following a shooting at Hay Court Apartments in the city's West End Friday, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department has confirmed.

TPD spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor told local media that the call of the shooting first came in 4:08 p.m., before it was determined that there was at least one victim — a woman who has yet to be publicly identified during the first stages of the investigation.

Taylor then said no suspects have been taken into custody at this time.

As is standard protocol, the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit has responded to the scene to assume the investigation.

Friday's shooting represents the second fatal incident for the apartment community since October, after a man was shot and killed last month.
