State Troopers are investigating the early-morning collision, which left the victim alone in his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
• UAB students honored by NASA Alabama Space Grant Consortium (uab.edu) — A UAB student from Vestavia Hills, Keith De La Rosa Gonzalez, is among seven UAB scholars honored with NASA Alabama Space Grant scholarships and fellowships for STEM studies. The awards support undergraduates and graduate researchers across physics, engineering, and math, helping them pursue aerospace-related careers and outreach in Alabama communities.
