  1. Anchorage attorney has been nominated by President Biden to serve as U.S. attorney for Alaska. S. Lane Tucker on Wednesday was nominated to serves as the top federal law enforcement officer in Alaska to permanently fill the open position. Tucker has been a partner inf Stoel Rives LLP's Anchorage office since 2010. Tucker also has experience in the U.S. Attorney's Office from 2002 to 2006. (Anchorage Daily News)
  2. The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce announces their AARP Community Challenge grant opportunity is now open. The program aims to fund projects meant to make long term change in Anchorage. Applications are open until Mar. 22, 2022 and can be submitted through the AARP website. (Press Release Desk)
  3. Anchorage Mayor Bronson vetoes the Anchorage Assembly's ordinance on meeting rules. Mayor Bronson claims the new ordinance will take power away from the executive branch of Anchorage's government. The Assembly Chair argues that the changes are reasonable and will ensure efficiency and safety in the chambers. (Anchorage Daily News)
