Here are the top stories in Anchorage today:

  1. A vehicle fatally struck a bicyclist off the Old Seward Highway in South Anchorage late Saturday night. Officers responded to the collision, along the Old Seward Highway near Scooter Avenue, just before 11 p.m. Saturday. The man on the bike had died at the scene, and the driver stayed on-site and cooperated with the investigation. (Anchorage Daily News)
  2. The Anchorage Assembly public hearing continues on Monday from 5-10 pm at the Loussac Library. The topic of the hearing is Assemblywoman Meg Zaletel’s ordinance requiring all people in Anchorage over the age of 2 to wear a face covering that obstructs their nose and mouth. Face shields would not be allowed under the new ordinance that would put into law what Mayor Dave Bronson has said is government overreach. (Must Read Alaska)
  3. Congressman Don Young introduces a resolution that designates a National Day of Remembrance for victims of Native American Boarding Schools. (Alaska Native News)
