- In 2021, Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport reported a significant comeback. Passenger traffic nearly doubled at the airport in 2021 from the year before and set another cargo record as the COVID-19 pandemic continued to upend the economy. According to the airport's director, Jim Szczesniak, the airport notched 4.5 million travelers last year, 93 percent higher than in 2020. (Anchorage Daily News)
- The University Of Alaska Anchorage has a new job opening for the Head of Access Services at the Consortium Library. The position requires the prospective employee to manage the Circulation Department, Interlibrary Loan, and Course Reserves and serves as the Library's building manager. - The Anchorage Police Department is looking for 19-year-old Gabriel C. Lovell Weinman who has a felony warrant for domestic violence-related Criminal Mischief V, Vehicle Theft I, Theft I, and Theft IV. Lovell Weinman is 5’07” tall, 120 pounds, with black hair and hazel eyes. (Facebook)
- At 3:04 AM on Feb. 4, Anchorage Police responded to a residence on the 4300-block of Piper Street regarding a disturbance wherein a gun was fired. Upon arrival, officers contacted an adult male and adult female who were inside the apartment; it was determined the suspect had fled the scene. (Facebook)
