Here are the top three stories today in Anchorage:
- The Anchorage School Board has announced three finalists in its search for a new superintendent. The three finalists are Frank Hauser, Jharrett Bryantt, and Mathew Neal. The search was started after Deena Bishop announced her retirement at the end of this school year. Finalists are scheduled to appear at a virtual community town hall at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. (Anchorage Daily News)
- Anchorage's Elvi Gray-Jackson has announced that she is ending her campaign for U.S. Senate and instead will seek reelection to the Alaska Senate. The Anchorage Democrat announced her decision in a statement released by her campaign on Friday. Republican Lisa Murkowski currently holds the U.S. Senate seat. (Anchorage Daily News)
- Ballots are slowly trickling into the Anchorage Election Office after ballots were delayed. The ballots were meant to be mailed no later than Mar. 15 but they were delayed in a post office in Everett, Washington. The ballots must be placed in a secure dropbox by Apr. 5, 2022.
