In November, we will celebrate National Native American and Alaska Native Heritage
Month. We will provide more opportunities to educate ourselves and our community about
the ancestral lands of the Dena’ina, Ahtna Dene, Alutiiq/Sugpiaq, Chugachmiut and
Eyak peoples where we live, work and learn. I encourage you to continue learning about
our state’s rich Alaska Native heritage that has shaped our past and will continue
to enrich our future.
Sincerely,Sean Parnell,UAA Chancellor
