Dear UAA Community,

Veterans Day gives us the opportunity to pay tribute to and honor the brave individuals
who, throughout our nation’s history, made great sacrifices to serve our country.
These veterans gave willingly and unselfishly from the Revolutionary War through modern
times in Iraq, Afghanistan and beyond.

At UAA, we value both our veteran students, faculty, staff and alumni as well as our
active duty service members. Across our UAA campuses, veterans, active-duty, Guard
and Reserve personnel and their immediate family members make up more than 18% of
our student body.

We take great pride in the fact we have been named a Military Friendly® School for
the 13th year in a row. We are also one of 104 campuses across the United States that
houses a VetSuccess on Campus program.

Through our Military Programs, UAA provides services and courses on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson
for students to realize their educational goals and aspirations. We are actively increasing
our presence on base to more conveniently serve our service members and their families.

Please join us for Veterans Appreciation Week events, now through Nov. 12, to honor and celebrate our military and veteran community.

Thank you to all who have served. We are grateful for your commitment to our community
and country.

Sincerely,Sean Parnell, UAA Chancellor
