Marci Suazo will join the UAA Office of University Advancement as director of public
relations in December, leading the university's communications and public relations
efforts.

Marci hails most recently from Aspen, Colorado, where she has worked in nonprofit
communications at the Aspen Institute for six years using tools like social media,
podcasts, email marketing, website and print materials to raise awareness about the
Aspen Ideas Festival. As a side project, Marci edits a children’s podcast based in
Albuquerque, New Mexico. She will graduate from the Communication and Leadership Studies
master's program at Gonzaga University in December. Previously, Marci served as associate
news director and reporter for broadcast and print news outlets in Colorado, Wisconsin
and Montana.

Marci will begin her new role at UAA the week of Dec. 13 She'll be attending the in-person
commencement ceremonies and other events occurring that week. After her first week,
Marci will work remotely until she and her family relocate to Alaska. Please join
