FAFSA noncompletion rates present an enormous opportunity because FAFSA completion
is so strongly correlated with good postsecondary student outcomes. First, FAFSA completion
is strongly associated with postsecondary enrollment: 92% of seniors who completed
the FAFSA enrolled by the November following graduation vs. 51% who did not complete
a FAFSA. Second, research has found that every additional $1,000 in grant aid per
student increases postsecondary persistence rates by 4 percentage points.
There are two upcoming resource sessions for counselors on April 14, 11-11:30 a.m.,
and April 29, 3-3:30 p.m. for you to join on Zoom.
