• Meissner, Thompson triumph in Ketchikan; Sitka, Juneau-Douglas nab team titles (alaskasportsreport.com) — Ketchikan hosted the Kayhi Cross Country Meet, where Wrangell's Jenna Meissner edged Sitka's Nova Schmidt and Juneau-Douglas' Erik Thompson led his team past host Ketchikan in the boys race. Local Ketchikan runners Benjamin Thompson and Henry Vail cracked the top 10 as Southeast schools fine-tune for state with just weeks left in the season.
• Second Skagway jewelry store reaches settlement with the state for misrepresenting products (khns.org) — Alaska's attorney general has reached another settlement with a Skagway jewelry store over misleading claims about "Alaskan" gold products, part of a broader crackdown that has also targeted shops in Ketchikan and Juneau. Officials say the effort is meant to protect tourists and ensure that purchases advertised as Alaskan truly support local miners, artists, and the regional economy.
