Arizona Same-Sex Parenting Case Heads To State's Supreme Court

A dispute between two women who had signed a joint parenting agreement before one left with the couple's then-two-year-old will be heard by the Arizona Supreme Court. The couple are fighting over parenting rights.

According to Arizona Capitol Times, which first reported the case, Kimberly McLaughlin abruptly moved out of their home, taking the child with her.
Suzan McLoughlin filed for divorce and parenting him, which was challenged by Kimberly who argued the state didn't consider Suzan a "parent."

When the judge said the case could proceed, Kimberly appealed to the state Supreme Court, which now says that they will hear the case.
