AZ Coronavirus Update: 11,380 Cases, 542 Deaths

As of Monday, there were 6 more deaths due to COVID-19 and 261 new cases, according to new state figures.

ACROSS ARIZONA—The Arizona Department of Health Services reported 261 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number to 11,380 as of Monday. There were also six additional deaths, bringing that total number to 542.

To date, state health officials said 150,241 people have been tested for the conoravirus. Of that number, 6.7 percent have tested positive.

  • Maricopa County: 5,988 cases, 250 deaths
  • Pima County: 1,602 cases, 134 deaths
  • Navajo County: 1,006 cases, 37 deaths
  • Apache County: 727 cases, 10 deaths
  • Coconino County: 713 cases, 56 deaths
  • Pinal County: 620 cases, 19 deaths
  • Mohave County: 198 cases, 25 deaths
  • Yuma County: 196 cases, 3 deaths
  • Yavapai County: 180 cases, 4 deaths
  • Santa Cruz County: 45 cases, 0 deaths
  • Cochise County: 42 cases, 0 deaths
  • La Paz County: 23 cases, 0 deaths
  • Graham County: 19 cases, 0 deaths
  • Gila County: 19 cases, 0 deaths
  • Greenlee County: 2 cases, 0 deaths

According to the latest data, 1,537 people are currently hospitalized for COVID-19. Maricopa County has the number of hospitalizations, with 845 people receiving medical care for the virus.

Most of the people who are currently hospital for COVID-19 are 65 years of age and older, the latest numbers show. Of the hospitalizations, 53 percent are male and 47 percent are female. When broken down by race, 39 percent of the current hospitalizations are white, 26 percent are Hispanic, 10 percent are Native American and 5 percent are black.

As of Sunday, 541 ventilators were in use for hospital patients receiving treatment for COVID-19. The latest figures also show that 1,194 ventilators are currently available at Arizona hospitals.
