AZ Coronavirus Update, May 13: 440 New Cases, 32 New Deaths
The Arizona Department of Health Services reported 440 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number to 12,176 as of Wednesday.
ACROSS ARIZONA—The Arizona Department of Health Services reported 440 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number to 12,176 as of Wednesday. There were also 32 additional deaths, bringing that total number to 594.
To date, state health officials said 165,810 people have been tested for the conoravirus. Of that number, 6.4 percent have tested positive.

- Maricopa County: 6,341 cases, 281 deaths
- Pima County: 1,661 cases, 144 deaths
- Navajo County: 1,099 cases, 42 deaths
- Apache County: 817 cases, 12 deaths
- Coconino County: 772 cases, 58 deaths
- Pinal County: 643 cases, 20 deaths
- Mohave County: 213 cases, 26 deaths
- Yuma County: 243 cases, 3 deaths
- Yavapai County: 227 cases, 4 deaths
- Santa Cruz County: 50 cases, 0 deaths
- Cochise County: 43 cases, 0 deaths
- La Paz County: 25 cases, 0 deaths
- Graham County: 21 cases, 0 deaths
- Gila County: 19 cases, 0 deaths
- Greenlee County: 2 cases, 0 deaths
According to the latest data, 1,590 people are currently hospitalized for COVID-19. Maricopa County has the number of hospitalizations, with 872 people receiving medical care for the virus.
Most of the people who are currently hospital for COVID-19 are 65 years of age and older, the latest numbers show. Of the hospitalizations, 53 percent are male and 47 percent are female. When broken down by race, 39 percent of the current hospitalizations are white, 26 percent are Hispanic, 11 percent are Native American and 5 percent are black.
As of Tuesday, 533 ventilators were in use for hospital patients receiving treatment for COVID-19. The latest figures also show that 1,210 ventilators are currently available at Arizona hospitals.
