Buckeye Attempted Kidnapping: Suspect Sought

The sheriff's office is investigating the attempted abduction of a 10-year-old.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is looking for the man who tried to kidnap a 10-year-old boy Monday morning. It happened just before 7 o'clock at a home on West Carver in the area of 205th Avenue between Elliot Road and Narramore Road.

The boy was playing outside his home when a man came up and grabbed him.

The boy broke free and ran home. The man fled.

Around 9:30, the sheriff's office tweeted that that a possible suspect had been detained following a burglary nearby.

About two hours later, though, they said that they were still looking for someone who they described as a dark haired white male, average height, with a tattoo on right forearm.

The incident happened not far from Rainbow Valley Elementary School.
