Mesa Woman Who Was Naked When She Stole Sheriff's Vehicle Gets Prison Time

Lisa Luna gets 27 months in prison but credit for the almost four months she has already served.

The woman who was naked when she stole a pickup truck belonging to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and then led police on a 70 mph chase through Phoenix has been sentenced to 27 months in prison. Lisa Luna will get credit for the 119 days that she has already spent behind bars.

Luna was naked on January 5 when she approached a deputy at a gas station near Butterfield Trail in Gila Bend. She told him she had been sexually assaulted - something she later admitted making up.

As he went to the gas station to get something to cover her. she got in his truck and sped away.

She eventually crashed into another car and was arrested.

It turned out Luna had a warrant out for her as well as previous arrests for a variety of crimes including driving without a license, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, and assault.

She pleaded guilty in April.
