Naked Man Pummels Patrol Car While Son Sits In His Car

A naked man who pummeled a patrol car - and his own car - with his fists as his four-year-old son sat in the passenger seat of his car was arrested Sunday along I-17 near milepost 325. The Arizona Department of Public Safety says it happened Sunday morning just after 8 a.m..

Troopers arrived after a report of a man laying down in the median. They were also told he might have been involved in a domestic violence situation.

The troopers stopped behind a black BMW that blocking a lane of traffic.

Suddenly a nude man ran toward his patrol vehicle and started punching it. (Subscribe to local news alerts on Patch).

The naked man then ran into the BMW and started ramming the patrol vehicle, according to officials

The man then fled from the scene in the BMW and drove wrong-way, northbound along the southbound lanes of I-17 for more than a mile.

The naked driver lost control of the vehicle, traveled onto the shoulder, reentered the southbound lanes, and then back into the northbound lanes.

The naked male driver was taken into custody without further incident.

The trooper, a 16-year veteran, sustained moderate injury and is home recovering.

The naked man and his four-year-old son were transported to the Flagstaff Medical Center for minor bruises and abrasions; both were treated and released.

The Arizona Department of Child Safety was called to assist with the investigation. The young boy was reunited with his mother at the hospital.

Boyd was booked into the Coconino County jail for aggravated assault with a dangerous instrument, felony endangerment, child abuse and criminal damage charges.
