• LIVE UPDATES: Severe monsoon storms moving into the Valley (abc15.com) — Severe monsoon storms are hitting the Valley tonight, with a thunderstorm warning specifically including Chandler, Gilbert and Apache Junction until 9:45 p.m. Residents should expect heavy rain, strong winds, blowing dust and dangerous driving conditions, and keep monitoring alerts and radar if they're out on the roads or planning to travel this evening.
   

• Expired sauces among 16 health violations at metro Phoenix restaurants (azcentral.com) — Maricopa County health inspectors recently cited several restaurants, including three in Chandler, for food safety violations such as expired sauces and improper storage temperatures. The report also notes that hundreds of other eateries earned top "A" ratings, giving Chandler diners a clearer picture of where food safety slipped and where standards remain high.
   

• Gilbert breaks from pack on East Valley Institute of Technology busing (eastvalleytribune.com) — EVIT's transportation shake-up is affecting several East Valley districts, including Chandler Unified, after a lawsuit over funding and control of career and technical programs. While most districts now rely on EVIT's new Windstar Lines contract, Gilbert and Cave Creek chose to bus their own students, as parents and administrators continue watching how reliably students reach Mesa campuses.
