• Arizona Snowbowl, AZ, Announces Opening Day With $1 Lift Tickets on Select Dates (snowbrains.com) — Flagstaff locals and visitors can look forward to Arizona Snowbowl opening November 20, with eight days of $1 lift tickets and many other dates at $9 or less. The resort has added a new beginner conveyor, expanded snowmaking, forest health work that opens more tree skiing, and RFID access to speed up lift lines, making this winter an especially budget-friendly time to hit the slopes near town.
   

• HHI Corp. Wins $14M Navy Contract for Potable Water Tanks at Flagstaff Observatory (envzone.com) — A new $14 million Navy contract will fund design and construction of potable water tanks and fire suppression systems at the Naval Observatory Flagstaff Station in Flagstaff. All work will occur locally through 2029, bringing long-term infrastructure upgrades and sustained federal investment into the community's key observatory facility.
   

• Who was the dead man found in Flagstaff in 1980 with a gunshot wound? (fresnobee.com) — A decades-old mystery tied to human remains found near the former Kowboy Kountry Club in Flagstaff has finally been solved through advanced DNA and genealogical work. Investigators identified the man as a 75-year-old who vanished in the 1950s, and quietly notified his long-searching family, bringing long-awaited closure to a case that lingered over the Flagstaff area for 46 years.
