Gatlin Brothers to perform at Gilbert venue (yourvalley.net) — Gilbert music fans can catch Larry, Steve and Rudy: The Gatlin Brothers live at 7 p.m. on Oct. 3 at the Higley Center for the Performing Arts in town. The Grammy-winning country and gospel trio will perform hits like "All the Gold in California" and "Houston," with tickets priced from $32 to $49 through the Higley Center's website and box office.
3. Bodycam video shows Arizona police officers sticking an emu in the back of a patrol car (king5.com) — Gilbert officers and nearby residents teamed up this month to rescue a stranded emu from a local canal, eventually coaxing and lifting the soggy bird into a patrol car. Bodycam video shows the lighthearted but tense moments as a rookie officer helps load the emu, which was then taken to a local animal rescue facility. Police publicly thanked the quick-acting Gilbert neighbors.
4. Northrop Grumman expands space operations in Gilbert (abc15.com) — Northrop Grumman is significantly expanding its northwest Gilbert campus with a new 120,000‑square‑foot facility and 350 additional jobs moving in from Chandler, strengthening the town's role in satellite production. Town leaders say this growth is key to revitalizing the area and hope more employees will choose to live nearby, tying Gilbert's housing, jobs, and daily life even more closely together.
5. These Arizona cities were named top places to live in 2026 (coppercourier.com) — Gilbert stands out in new 2026 rankings as the 13th‑best U.S. city for renters and Arizona's top city for real estate, scoring especially well on affordability and economic environment. Alongside nearby cities like Scottsdale, Mesa, and Surprise, Gilbert's strong housing and job market reinforce its appeal for residents weighing where to live or invest in Arizona.
