1 Booked On DUI Charges After Deadly Phoenix Crash

There was a deadly head-on collision by 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road. One driver, 72, is being charged with DUI.

PHOENIX, AZ — A head-on collision in Phoenix left one dead Tuesday night, according to reports. The survivor, a 72-year-old man, was also booked on DUI charges.

It happened on 43rd Avenue near Thomas Road, according to AZ Family. A 22-year-old man was driving a Saturn southbound on 43rd when he crossed into the northbound lane for unknown reasons.

He hit a Lexus driven by a 72-year-old man. He showed signs of impairment. However, his condition is considered serious and he his receiving medical attention before legal proceedings.

AZ Family reported 43rd was closed between Thomas Road and West Virginia Avenue while authorities investigated.
