Here are the top three stories in Phoenix today:

  1. The Phoenix Police Department has released footage from the shooting of a man on 19th Avenue on May 1. The man was reportedly waving a machete while speaking Spanish. The unidentified man is currently in the hospital and the department has announced plans to book him into Maricopa County Jail on aggravated assault of an officer after he is released. (Phoenix Patch)
  2. The Phoenix Police Department has reportedly reduced the time it takes to send officers to the "Brady" list. It is now taking the department 28.5 days on average to report an officer which is substantially faster than the months-long delay in the past. A "Brady" list is meant to track problematic officers through the county prosecutor's office. (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
  3. Best Buy is opening a Best Buy Outlet store in Phoenix. The new store type will be a transformation of an existing location near Paradise Valley Mall. The national electronic store chain hopes its outlet stores will provide savings to customers while reducing the number of electronics that end up in landfills. (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
