83 Year Old Dancer Celebrates 50 Years At Arthur Murray Dance Studio In Phoenix
With 50 years in Arthur Murray, and counting, this student has reached the highest possible honor in the organization.
Phoenix, AZ– /News Reported by LaGuardia Media and Public Relations/ – In 1975, Gary Hamman walked into the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife to "put a little fun" in their lives.
When the boogie fever was over, the marriage ended in divorce and Gary kept on dancing. A while later he brought his new wife that he had met at church, to the dance studio, and over the years, the two of them earned the highest level of achievement in Arthur Murray Dance Studios- The Gold Bar.
Unfortunately Gary's new wife passed away. Soon, Hamman knew that he should return to the dance floor to help him with his grieving. After all, Arthur Murray studio had always given him a feeling of family, a place where he belonged, a sense of accomplishment and community.

Fifty years later, Gary has taken over 5,000 dance lessons and has participated in 45 dance competitions.
He has never been away from the studio for more than 2 weeks in his life.
"Everyone should learn to dance in their lifetime. The studio has been like a family to me, and has given me a lot to look forward to" says Gary Hamman.

2025 marks his 50th anniversary with Arthur Murray Dance Studios in Phoenix. He has had over 106 certified dance coaches and instructors over the years, and has been trained by some of the most prestigious dance coaches in the country.
Holly Udy-Meekin, Franchisee of the Arthur Murray in Phoenix, AZ states "Gary is a quiet and humble man, incredibly kind to the other students and is a legend in our studio! Besides being a great dancer, Gary is a retired engineer by trade".
Gary Hamman feels that dancing keeps him feeling alive and young at heart.
Recently at a dance competition in California, hosted by the Unique Dance-O-Rama Gary Hamman was presented the "Lifetime Of Dance" Award from Arthur Murray International Inc.
Gary Will be performing and competing this Saturday and Sunday at Iron Oaks Golf Club in Sun Lakes.
