PHOENIX, AZ — Phoenix is observing Juneteenth on Friday, June 19, with a mix of closures and adjusted hours across city services.
Here's what residents need to know before heading out.
Good news for most households: curbside trash and recycling collection will run on its regular schedule. No changes.
All Phoenix Public Library locations will be closed Friday except Cholla Library, which will be open from noon to 9 p.m. as part of the city's Heat Relief efforts.
Book drops and digital resources remain available at phoenixpubliclibrary.org.
The 27th Avenue and North Gateway transfer stations will both be closed Friday. The Public Works Customer Contact Center will also be closed and reopen June 22, at 7 a.m.

Parks and trails stay open during regular hours. Community centers and the S'edav Va'aki Museum will be closed.
Bus and light rail will run on a normal weekday schedule. Customer service is available from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Ed Pastor, Sunnyslope and Central Station transit centers will be closed. Dial-a-Ride service is available by reservation from 4:40 a.m. to 11 p.m.
No holiday break on parking meters. Enforcement runs 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, including holidays. For urgent street issues, call 602-262-6021 for traffic signal problems or 602-262-6441 for potholes.
Travelers flying out this weekend should reserve parking in advance, confirm flight status with their airline and allow extra time. REAL ID-compliant identification is required at security.
