3-Year-Old Boy Dies After Phoenix Apartment Pool Drowning

The Maricopa County Medical Examiner ruled the boy's death was caused by complications of a drowning.

PHOENIX, AZ — A 3-year-old boy has died about a month after he was found unresponsive in the swimming pool of a Phoenix apartment complex, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Police confirmed Monday that the boy died from complications of drowning following the incident on Colter Street, north of Camelback Road near 11th Avenue.

The Maricopa County Medical Examiner ruled the death an accident. The child's name has not been released.

Investigators said the boy was found in the pool, but it remains unclear how long he had been in the water before he was discovered.

The Phoenix Police Department said no arrests were made and no criminal charges will be filed. The investigation has been closed.

Police did not release additional details about the circumstances surrounding the drowning.
